Ruby has been very interested in the toilet lately so we decided to get her a potty chair. At first she didn’t quite know what to do with it but then she figured it out. No deposits yet, but I think that we should probably move it out of the living room first anyway.
Ruby loves playing Animatch on the iPad. At first she just liked seeing the animals and hearing them make sounds but she has actually figured out the game. Today she made five matches in a row!
We had a wonderful visit with Elizabeth and Danny today. Ruby wore her pretty new dress that they had given her on Friday and looked so cute. It was so nice to spend some time together and catch up after so long apart. Elizabeth and I have been best friends since kindergarten and our friendship has survived through an international move when we were 12, going to different colleges, and living across the country for the past seven years. She is absolutely one of the most important people in my life and I am so glad that we are finally in the same time zone!
We had a lovely little Saturday with friends, starting with brunch and a trip to the Corcoran Gallery of Art in DC. Here is Ruby critiquing a few pieces from one of her favorite exhibits.
Today Ruby finally got to meet her Auntie Elizabeth and Uncle Danny (my best friend since kindergarten and her wonderful husband). We had a great lunch with our moms and Ruby just loved her new friends. We can’t wait to hang out again on Sunday!
Ruby has not been wanting to take naps in her crib of late, but lucky for her one of my favorite things in the world is to hold my sweet sleeping baby. She is getting so big and independent I don’t know how much longer this will last, so I just enjoy the hour or so of quiet rest amid a day spent chasing Ruby around the house.
Ruby took a few breaks between bouncing off the walls today to lounge in her lamby seat to play Animatch on the iPad…
…and eat some strawberries.
Ruby was so sad to say goodbye to her cousins (and PopPop and Auntie Rebecca too), but she was so tired that she slept the entire three hour car ride home. Here she is yawning this morning while Megan was giving her a goodbye hug.
Ruby just loves her cousin Ben. They were both so sleepy after a trip to the pool this afternoon.
