17 AugRuby had such fun at the beach yesterday and we all had the best time watching her enjoy the water and the sand.
17 Months!
15 AugRuby is 17 months old today–where has the time gone?? (I think I say that every month). We drove up to the Jersey shore for a nice long weekend. Ruby read with Popsie…
…and walked down to the beach with Daddy.
Bathtime with Mama
13 AugRuby got pretty messy eating homemade chocolate coconut milk ice cream tonight, so Mama gave her a bath.
Chevy’s
12 AugWe went to Chevy’s for lunch today and Ruby ate almost an entire dish of (very spicy) salsa. She enjoyed it despite her worried look.
Backyard Take 2
11 AugAll of Matty’s hard work laying sod in our little backyard a few months ago turned out to be in vain. The sod didn’t quite take root and we ended up with dead grass. Today Matty decided to try a new approach–he ripped up the sod and spread out rubber mulch. The yard looks so much better and the mulch will be a nice cushiony place for Ruby if she happens to take a tumble.

A lovely new home for Ruby’s “wee!”
This afternoon we all went to the Irish Festival in Old Town, where I volunteered at the Republican booth. Of course Ruby was a huge hit in her cute clover dress.
Dancing
10 AugRuby had such a good time dancing with her daddy today. Her favorite move was when he flipped her over his head.
Wee!
9 AugMama and PopPop (my mom and dad) just gave Ruby an awesome Kangaroo Climber for the backyard, which she calls “wee!” It is the perfect thing for her to burn off some excess energy and she just loves it, so much so in fact that tonight at dinner she pitched *quite* the temper tantrum because we wouldn’t let her go outside and play on it. Through her tears she just kept crying “wee! wee!” and wouldn’t even eat anything. I think that the terrible twos have come to the Shellock household a tad bit early.
Loudmouth Mommy
