29 AugRuby was so sweet playing with Joe today. She tucked him in to “take a nap” and read to him from Daddy’s favorite storybook. They are going to have do much fun together in the years to come.
Jersey Shore Outlets
26 AugI can’t believe that the summer is almost over! Matty and I decided to come back to Jersey for Labor Day weekend and then realized that it’s upon us. Rather than doing a four hour drive twice in five days the kids and I decided to stay with Mom-Mom and Popsie for the week. Poor Matty has to work, so he drove back home yesterday.
Today Mom and I took the kids to the Jersey Shore Outlets for a little shopping. Ruby was pretty good so she got to ride on a little helicopter and then play at the playground as a reward.

Splash Park
25 AugWe went to an awesome splash park today, which of course Ruby loved. She is so full of life!
Two Months
25 AugJoe is two months old today! He is so sweet and such an easy, fun baby, and I can’t believe we haven’t always known him.
Pool Day

Lavalette 2013
23 AugToday we had a Jersey Shore beach day in Lavalette. We met Mom’s cousin Kathy and Kathy’s niece Rosie, who Ruby just adores (she calls her “my fwiend Wosie”). It was a gorgeous day–breezy and not too hot. Joe slept pretty much the whole time but Ruby kept Popsie, Matty, and especially Rosie on their toes.

Point Pleasant
22 AugLast night for a special treat we went down to the boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach. The weather was perfect–cool and breezy–and our little thrill seeker was in all her glory. Most of the rides were too fast to get anything but super blurry pictures, but we did get a few on the slower rides.

I wish that I could bottle up her sheer joy on all of the rides. Strangers were amazed at her fearlessness on the roller coaster, but we have all come to expect it.
Joe had a good time too, just taking in all of the fun sights and sounds:
A Friend and a Bath
22 AugOn Wednesday our friend Amee came over with her sweet daughter Eleanor. Ruby and Eleanor got along like two peas in a pod–I wish we all lived closer!
Joe loved his nice warm bath, even though the tub is a little small!
Storybook Land
22 AugOn Tuesday we headed down to Storybook Land in Egg Harbor Township. It is a quaint little amusement park aimed at young kids that has been around since 1955. Ruby was able to ride almost all of the rides and absolutely LOVED everything. She is really fearless and would yell “again, again!” at the end of every ride, even the roller coaster. Joe was really good and we all had a wonderful time.
To cool off we decided to lounge around the pool and take a dip.
