Shoes!

6 Nov

I took Ruby to Payless for the first time today, to find some black shoes for her and black boots for me. Oh my. She is such a girl. Trying to focus her attention away from pink! Dora! Glitter! Princesses! was challenging, but we finally made it out of there with exactly what I had wanted and (almost) nothing more.

Thank God Sophie kept Joe entertained so I could focus on his crazy sister.

Halloween and Beyond

5 Nov

So Halloween was almost a week ago and I am just now getting around to posting pictures. That’s just how I roll these days I guess.

Halloween was actually super fun. We had a really classy party in our driveway and garage with new and old friends. Matty dressed up as Walter White from “Breaking Bad” and even handed out fake Blue Sky to anyone in the know. Ruby was an owl again, Joe was a monster, and I was a pirate. These are the best pictures we got (really):

On Friday morning we recovered from the party and then drove down to Norfolk for the weekend. On Saturday we got to watch Megan and Ricky play their last soccer games of the season. They both played really well and even scored goals. Ruby and Joe played with Jenna and Ben during the games.

Today the kids and I walked down to vote and then went to the park and out for lunch. Ruby behaved beautifully. Joe slept the whole time.

Not-so-little Girl

30 Oct

I realized today how quickly Ruby is growing up as I had a flash-forward to her teenage years: hoodie, purse, and Starbucks beverage (chocolate milk with whipped cream for now).

And here is Joe in the stroller at the park this evening.

Barber Shop Haircut

28 Oct

Today I took Ruby to Bradlee Barber Shop for a haircut. Her new cut is super cute and was super cheap–we have found our new spot.

On our way out the door:

Bouncy Frog

28 Oct

Joe is really enjoying Ruby’s old bouncy frog that Matty just pulled out of retirement.

Ruby still loves it too.

Joseph Four Months

25 Oct

Joe is four months old today and I completely forgot to take a picture of him until I was getting him ready for bed. He had been asleep on our bed and did not appreciate being roused from his dreams.

Pure Ruby

25 Oct

I had to take a few pictures today of Ruby being just being herself. Despite the cold weather, she went out onto our little balcony wearing only a fluffy pink skirt and put her baby to bed. Then she sat out there and ate whipped cream from a spoon.

Rallying for Audrey Grace

25 Oct

My childhood friend Grey and his wife Monica recently had a sweet baby girl named Audrey Grace. She was born with a heart defect that required immediate surgery and has been fighting ever since. A few days ago Audrey Grace was having a particularly rough time so Monica asked Grey, an avid baseball fan, to put on his rally cap for her. Grey posted a picture to facebook and now all of their friends and family have been rallying too, including Joe.

Nummies for Baby

Yesterday while I was nursing Joe Ruby told me that her baby needed to eat too.
